——A Universe within a vessel
Open the door into an otherworldly realm, beyond the everyday. Akaji Maro’s DAIRAKUDAKAN KOCHUTEN returns to DANCE BOX! Sculpted bodies.. Majestic sets and costumes that bend time and space… DANCE BOX is proud to present the KOCHUTEN series, a legendary production which when last presented in Osaka, created a wave of returning audiences.

In Summer, most beautiful is the night. Early September, as the sound of crickets still fill the air, the KOCHUTEN series will be revived for the first time in 20 years, as a three-year project.

For the first year, DAIRAKUDAKAN will tour Yang Jongye’s The Rite of Spring ——a piece which sold out 8 shows in its premiere. A work that takes inspiration not only by Nijinsky, but rich imagery such as Tarkovsky’s Solaris, Yang’s The Rite of Spring evokes the unknown realm hidden in the depths of our souls.
——Dream and Reality…

As the boundary dissolves, you too, will set foot into the other side, a realm beyond the vessel.
